New Zealand considerations

What to know before you start

Consent for relocation

Relocating a building onto a site generally requires building consent for the foundations, connections and associated work, and the building must meet the Building Code as relocated.

Planning rules

Some district plans have specific rules for relocated buildings, such as reinstatement requirements or timeframes. We check these for your site.

Condition of the house

The existing house's condition affects the scope of upgrades. An inspection early helps avoid surprises.
