Resource consent drawings & applications

Resource consent drawings and applications for residential projects.

When a design doesn't meet every rule in the district or unitary plan, a resource consent is usually needed before building consent can follow. We check the rules early, design with them in mind, and prepare the architectural drawings, site plans and supporting documentation — and help prepare the application, council correspondence and RFI responses.

The service

Resource Consent with Nator Architecture

When a design doesn't meet every rule in the district or unitary plan, a resource consent is usually needed before building consent can follow. We check the rules early, design with them in mind, and prepare the architectural drawings, site plans and supporting documentation — and help prepare the application, council correspondence and RFI responses.

Specialist planning assessments and reports, and traffic, servicing or other expert input, are coordinated with external planning consultants where required.

Led by Timmy Nator, LBP (Design) Class 1, with around 15 years of residential design experience. Available throughout New Zealand, with remote delivery where appropriate.

New Zealand considerations

What to know before you start

Resource vs building consent

Resource consent deals with planning rules and effects on the environment and neighbours. Building consent deals with whether the construction meets the Building Code. Many projects need both, and they are separate applications.

Changing legislation

New Zealand's resource-management framework is being reformed. We check the rules that currently apply to your site with the relevant council at the time of application.

Outcomes

Notification decisions, conditions and timeframes are set by the council. Council decisions, requests for information and processing times are outside our control, and no consent outcome is guaranteed.
